Classic Car Show - Whiteman Park 22nd April

A classic car show may not be the first event that comes to mind when members think of promoting the Club, however think of the history of the Jeep - now celebrating over 70 years. Enzo Ferrari famously said "the only true American sports car is the Jeep". The Smithsonian Institute displays a WWII Jeep and millions of people all over the world call the Jeep the most recognisable vehicle make on the planet. So who are we to argue?

With 70 years of history there is plenty of opportunity to show Jeeps that we rarely see. And that's what this is all about, it is a car show after all.

The Jeep Club has been displaying at the Classic Car Show for over 15 years, initially sharing space with our sister club the Rambler Car Club of WA, and in our own right for the last few years. Last year we won the coveted "Best of Show" award for our 70th Anniversary of Jeep 'experience'. While we are not planning a display of the same level as last year we would still like to make our presence felt.

So, we are asking for people to register their interest to attend either as a volunteer to assist set up and breakdown and/or help on the stand for a few hours during the day, and of course, for people who would like to display their Jeeps.

With over 70 years of history to display there is space for anyone who would like to display their vehicle, and while the emphasis of the show is 'classic vehicles' we expect a good showing from the JK crowd too!

Cost of entry to the venue (Whiteman Park) is free and there will be breakfast and lunch BBQ supplied for those helping out on the day. For the rest of the family there are plenty of activities available at the Park, apart from the car show of course, including tram rides, train rides, water park, craft village, wildlife park, raptor display (the birds not the dinosaurs!), car and tractor musuems, and more.

For those helping to set up or display Jeeps, vehicles must be in place by 9AM. The gates open at 6:30AM. The vehicle need to stay in place until at least 3:30PM for insurance reasons.
